SoS High School is a five-session mental wellness program built on the music students already listen to. Run by your staff or by us. Minimal prep, no extra staffing, not therapy. Accepting partner schools for the 2026 to 2027 school year.

Schools want to support student mental health but have limited staff, crowded schedules, stigma around traditional outreach, and few options that fit the school day. Music is already how students regulate stress, explore identity, and connect. SoS HS helps them do it with intention. It feels more like a listening lab than a lecture.

Bring it to your school →Five ready-to-run sessions for advisory, classroom, or after-school settings. Students build playlists for stress, mood, and motivation, look at how lyrics shape identity, and talk in listening labs.
For: School counselors, SEL leads, advisory and health educators, and administrators.
- Five ready-to-run sessions: music, the brain, and emotion; mental health and intentional coping; identity and self-expression; social connection and belonging; resilience and the future self
- Minimal prep, no additional staffing, adaptable to any school environment
- Co-designed with educators and mental-health professionals; activity-based and student-centered
- For students: stronger coping skills, mental-health literacy, social connection, and earlier awareness before challenges escalate

Artist Visit
Ask about a visit →A single event where an artist performs, then co-facilitates small groups with a therapist about coping, identity, and connection. The format that proved the idea in 2023, and a good way to start.
For: Schools that want one event rather than the full program.
- An artist-led session built around a mental-health theme
- Live performance, then small-group discussion with a therapist
- A connection to local mental-health professionals and pathways to care
- Past artists include Erick the Architect, Pink Siifu, Cleo Reed, Bryndon Cook, deem spencer, and Maassai
What we've learned

2 schools, 2023
Our first programs, in two NYC public high schools, funded by MTV's Mental Health Action Day: artists performed, then co-facilitated small groups with therapists. Students who had refused traditional support opened up.

“Pretty cool.”
A principal told us a high-risk student who had rejected every counseling outreach said that about the program. For us, that was the whole thesis proven.

42%
of high-school students felt persistently sad or hopeless in 2021, and 22% seriously considered suicide. Students are more likely to seek support at school than in a clinic.
CDC Youth Risk Behavior Survey, 2011 to 2021
- Now running in Washington, DC, with strong engagement, especially in group listening and discussion
- Evaluated in partnership with NYU's Ripollés Lab (Music and Audio Research Lab)
- Co-founded by a clinician who has worked with adolescents; clinicians and crisis experts on our board
- Trusted by partners including the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, Save The Music Foundation, Loveland Foundation, TikTok, SoundCloud, and the U.S. Department of Education
